A UMass Dartmouth student found deceased on Tuesday is being remembered.

Mark Fuller, Chancellor at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, announced that Flordan “Flo” Bazile, a Charlton College of Business undergraduate student, has passed away. Flo was a member of the Track & Field Team and was named Little East Conference Track Athlete and Track Rookie Athlete of the Week for the past two weeks for his recent performances. His coaches and teammates described Flo as hard-working, energetic, a champion, and a great friend.

The 21-year-old sophomore was last seen at Pine Dale Hall dormitories on campus at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Monday.

An extensive water and ground search resulted in Bazile’s body being located in the Acushnet River.

Bazile was being remembered as a kind-hearted soul and a great friend who was a great athlete as his accolades mentioned above testify.

No foul play is suspected.
