Mexican national previously deported on crimes against children arrested by State Police on new charges, issued bail

The Rhode Island State Police announced that on Thursday, members of Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Jose Pineda-Izazaga, of Providence, on child pornography charges and weapons charges. During this investigation, Pineda-Izazaga was arrested for child pornography and possession of a 9-millimeter Ruger SR9C semi-automatic handgun with an obliterated serial number.

This seizure and arrest were the result of an investigation by the Rhode Island State Police ICAC Task Force where Pineda-Izazaga’s address was identified as uploading child pornography to social media sites. As a result, detectives executed a court authorized search warrant at his residence. Pineda-Izazaga was arraigned at Sixth Division District Court before Associate Judge O’Neil and issued $50,000 surety bail for the possession of child pornography, alteration of marks of identification on firearms, and possession of firearm by alien. Additionally, Associate Judge O’Neil issued $1,000 surety bail for the Third District Court warrant for failure to appear on a charge of obstruction of justice.

Pineda-Izazaga was identified as a Mexican national who was originally deported on January 18, 2007, and subsequently pled guilty on April 18, 2018, and again on June 22, 2022, to illegal re-entry after deportation. In addition to the above federal charges, Pineda-Izazaga had been previously convicted in New York for Sexual Misconduct: Male having Deviant Intercourse with Person without Consent, and Act in Manner to Injure Child less than 17.
