Mayor Correia confirms name will be on ballot, commits to removal of storm water fee
Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia II confirmed last night that he is officially on the ballot for mayor. He also confirmed his stance on an issue that has recently caused some speculation.
Correia confirmed that he accumulated 600 verified signatures in his bid for another term. He also gave some insight into his platform for the upcoming race.
“Let’s keep adding more police officers, firefighters, and teachers! Let’s continue getting rid of fees and increasing services. I will finish what I started and eliminate the storm water fee. Let’s keep upgrading our parks and fixing our streets.”
This is the first time Correia has officially committed to removing the storm water fee. Correia states that he is totally eliminating the fee and not shifting the burden anywhere else.
As the campaign continues, Correia is expected to shed more light on his plans in the coming days.
