Mayor Correia, 21 other mayors endorse Baker-Polito ticket

ALLSTON — Today, the Baker-Polito campaign announced that 22 mayors have endorsed Governor Charlie Baker and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito for re-election, including Democrats, Republicans and Independents from cities across Massachusetts.

“Lt. Governor Polito and I are grateful for the support of these mayors, who represent a diverse array of strong, thriving communities from all parts of Massachusetts,” said Governor Baker. “Since taking office, we have prioritized collaborative relationships with local leaders, to give them the tools and flexibility to help their communities grow and succeed. We look forward to working with these mayors from both sides of the aisle to continue that approach in a second term.”

“As former selectmen, Governor Baker and I have a deep appreciation for the hard work of local elected officials, which is why we continue to build effective partnerships with them,” said Lt. Governor Polito. “Having visited and signed agreements with each of our 351 cities and towns, I know firsthand that people measure success by what’s happening in their communities, not on Beacon Hill. We’re proud to have taken an approach that recognizes and celebrates that fact.”

22 Mayors Endorse Baker-Polito For Re-Election

Revere Mayor Brian Arrigo (D): “I’m grateful for the bipartisan, commonsense approach Charlie Baker and Karyn Polito have taken to supporting Revere and all of Massachusetts’ communities. Whether it’s making crucial investments in our business districts, or boosting local aid and education funding, they have made it a priority to ensure all our cities and towns can share in Massachusetts’ continued success and growth. I’m endorsing Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito for a second term so that we will continue to have an advocate on Beacon Hill.”

Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter (I): “Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito have a strong record of bipartisan leadership that’s working for cities like Brockton. By prioritizing a collaborative approach, we have demonstrated that our people benefit when their leaders work together. I know that in a second term, they will continue to work hard to make progress for our cities and towns, and that’s why I am endorsing them for re-election.”

Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia (D): “Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito are leading by example, with the kind of bipartisan leadership our Commonwealth needs for growth and progress. They have especially demonstrated their commitment to the South Coast, from improvements to our state pier, and taking a significant step towards rail to Boston, after years of promises. Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito have championed Fall River and deserve our support for four more years.”

Fitchburg Mayor Stephen DiNatale (D): “Fitchburg and all of Massachusetts’ communities are better off thanks to the Baker-Polito team’s record of delivering progress and results. In addition to creating strong partnerships with municipal officials, the Governor and Lt. Governor have ensured our cities and towns have crucial resources from boosts in local aid to funding for critical infrastructure projects. That’s why I’m endorsing their re-election and am looking forward to working with them to build on Fitchburg’s recent momentum.”

Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin (D): “Communities like Woburn are stronger today because Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito have reached across the aisle and out to municipal officials to serve as advocates for every person, city and town in Massachusetts. I’m proud to support their re-election campaign because I believe our Commonwealth and Woburn deserve four more years of the strong bipartisan leadership that continues to move Massachusetts’ economy, communities and schools forward.”
