Massachusetts woman who died unattended at hospital to have services in Fall River as family searches for answers
Police are investigating an unattended death that took place at a Massachusetts hospital.
According to multiple reports, nursing staff at Pembroke Behavioral Hospital called 911 on July 22nd to report that a 41-year-old female patient had been found unresponsive inside of her room.
She was then transported to South Shore Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser for funeral expenses, sister Bianca Velasquez has identified her as Marisol Valesquez.
“Her life ended under the care of Pembroke Hospital in Massachusetts. It’s important that we gather as family and friends to not only find out how this happened, but to lay her to rest the best way possible.”
According to an obituary, “Marisol was a devoted mother and lived to care for her beloved children. She enjoyed playing video games, listening to 90’s R&B music, watching TD Jake’s Christian television and “Vikings.” She never left the house without her New York jewelry on.”
The medical examiner will determine Valesquez’s cause of death.
Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Pembroke Police are investigating.
Marisol’s Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marisol’s honor may be made to Autism Speaks, PO Box 37148, Boone, IA 50037-0148. Burial will be private.

Will say I was there about a week before this. The staff often were overworked and there wasn’t enough of them there. It’s not their fault. It’s management. There was/is black molds in the showers. That should say enough.
