Massachusetts woman wanted on assaulting ambulance personnel out of Fall River, arrested for allegedly assaulting police
TEWKSBURY – Police Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a woman who allegedly assaulted several officers who were attempting to arrest her on a warrant.
On Thursday, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Tewksbury Police received a call from a woman who reported being lost. The caller hung up on dispatchers, but dispatchers determined the call originated from the area of 270 Main Street.
Tewksbury Police searched the area with assistance from a K-9 Unit and Drone Unit but were unable to locate the caller until she called police again and reported being in the area of Veranda Avenue.
Officers located the caller, identified her as 26-year-old Hannah Rocklein, and determined she was wanted on two active arrest warrants out of Fall River District Court, both of which charge Assault and Battery on Ambulance Personnel.
When officers attempted to take Rocklein into custody, she physically resisted, kicking an officer and attempting to punch another. Officers were able to restrain Rocklein, who repeatedly kicked the inside of a police cruiser while being taken back to the police station for booking.
During booking, Rocklein again kicked officers, punched one officer, and attempted to punch another. She was restrained without injury and placed in a holding cell. There were no reported injuries to either Rocklein or the officers.
Rocklein was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Three Counts), Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Assault (Two Counts), Resisting Arrest, and Warrants.
Rocklein was arraigned Friday in Lowell District Court.
