Massachusetts State Rep. Carole Fiola issues update on Charles Braga Bridge lighting removal

Published

on

Residents have been asking and a local state rep issued an update on the Braga Bridge lighting situation.

Carole Fiola stated on social media that as many have noticed, the lights on the Braga bridge have been removed to be modified and retrofitted to fit the design of the new and final lighting that will adorn the bridge.

“MassDOT District 5 let me know that the existing lighting will remain removed/disabled until such time that the permanent lighting is in place and energized. The time frame for the outage is expected to be until spring 2026 per the contractor’s schedule. I’m looking forward to seeing our Bridge brightly lit with countless color combinations at that time.”

In May of last year, it was announced that safety improvements and electrical/lighting upgrades would be taking place in the area of the Braga Bridge in Fall River and Somerset.

They should consider work inside the city and stop wasting money on lights

Is this rep serious? Who even approved this when our schools are literally falling down. What a joke. I bet if this is looked into, we will find a tie to whoever approved this and the company getting funded.
