Massachusetts State Police release name of 19-year-old killed in fatal crash
Massachusetts State Police have released the name of the victim in a fatal crash that took place Tuesday morning.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, just after 7:15 a.m., Troopers assigned to the Danvers Barracks responded to reports of a single vehicle crash on Route 128 northbound in the area of Mile Marker 51 in Manchester-by-the-Sea. Upon the arrival of Troopers, they located a 2009 Honda Civic in the tree line of the right side of the roadway with both occupants suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Life-saving attempts were made, however, the passenger, identified as Byssman Pablo Bixcul, 19, of Lynn, succumbed to injuries at the scene. The operator, a 26-year-old man from Lynn, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital via MedFlight with life-threatening injuries.
The speed of the Honda is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The exact cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Manchester-by-the-Sea Fire Department, Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services, and MassDOT. The scene cleared and all lanes reopened at approximately 9 a.m.
