Massachusetts State Police, local police investigating after two rushed to the hospital in Norfolk County crash

An early morning weekend crash in Massachusetts led to serious injuries and two vehicles destroyed.

According to police, at approximately 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, Braintree Police Communications dispatched a call for a vehicle accident in the area of 555 Pond Street.

On arrival the officers found two vehicles, a Nissan and a Mazda, both with heavy front end damage. Both drivers were injured. The responding officers had to remove the driver of the Nissan who was unconscious and suffering from serious internal injuries. The officers rendered aid until the Braintree Fire Department and Brewster Ambulance arrived on scene.

Both operators were transported to South Shore Hospital. The operator of the Nissan was ultimately transported from SSH by Boston MedFlight to a Boston hospital for more advanced care.

The Massachusetts State Police C.A.R.S section, MSP Crime Scene Section, and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office responded and assisted with this incident. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
