Massachusetts State Police arrest three, two still wanted, after foot pursuit, Route 24 vehicle pursuit

Three people were arrested early this morning after a vehicle pursuit, then a foot pursuit.

According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, just after midnight today, a Massachusetts State Trooper on patrol on Route 24 north in Avon observed and attempted to stop a 2012 Toyota RAV4 that had no rear license plate or rear bumper. The driver of the SUV refused to stop and fled north on Route 24. MSP Troop H Headquarters authorized the Trooper to pursue the RAV4 and assumed command and control.

Meanwhile, another Trooper got into position ahead of the fleeing suspect vehicle and deployed a tire deflation devise across the roadway. The fleeing RAV4 struck the stop sticks and sustained damage to both left side tires.

The suspect vehicle continued to flee and exited Route 24 on Route 93 south as Troopers continued to pursue it. A short time later the suspect vehicle took Exit 3 onto Blue Hill River Road in Milton.

Moments later, the RAV4 turned onto Trout Brook Avenue in Milton and came to a stop. All five occupants bailed out of the vehicle and ran as Troopers converged on the vehicle.

Troopers apprehended three of the five occupants: a 16-year-old Brockton girl, a 17-year-old Dorchester boy, and Hildo Pina-Vaz, an 18-year-old male from Roxbury. They were each charged with motor vehicle offenses, malicious destruction of property, and disturbing the peace.

A search by the patrols and a State Police K9 team for the remaining two occupants yielded negative results.
