Massachusetts State Police arrest man attempting to leave country concerning murder of 22-year-old Romualdy Pierre-Charles

Massachusetts State Police have arrested a man in an ongoing Brockton homicide investigation, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz.

On July 24, police responded to 27 Vesey Street and found Romualdy Pierre-Charles, 22, fatally shot at his home.

Police filed a warrant to arrest Marcus Miranda, 20, on several charges, including murder.

On Monday, troopers and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Detective Unit arrested Miranda at Logan Airport as he was attempting to board an aircraft to leave the United States.

Officials also filed a murder charge against Govanni Carapinha, 23, who is currently in custody.

A friend stated that Romualdy was beloved, not only by his family, but by everyone who knew him. His smile and laugh were infectious and was attending college, while also working to help support his family.

“I’ve known Romualdy since he was four, when we moved into the house next door. I’ll never forget how excited he was when we met. I was 9 months pregnant with my daughter, Liz. He asked when she would arrive and if they could be friends. And they were, from day one. He was the sweetest, silliest, kindest boy. He was a helper, whether it be raking leaves or helping with laundry, or keeping any eye on my youngest son.”
