Massachusetts sees record number of COVID-19 testing, breaks three day increase in hospitalizations in Thursday report
Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations and a record number of testing results arrived in Thursday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 319 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. An increase from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.5%.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 113,517 with 21 more reported dead for a total of 8,568.
Massachusetts had seen 229 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.
27,879 tests were performed, almost 12,200 more than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,821,031. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,381,178.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 72 of the last 95 days, and saw a decrease of 21 today after a three day increase to see the total lower to 401.

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 74,610
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,773
According to the CDC, as of August 12th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,176,018 with 165,148 dead.
