Massachusetts sees increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations and cases Tuesday

Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations and cases in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 923 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Monday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains 1.78%.

Massachusetts had seen 725 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 157,308 with 12 more reported dead for a total of 9,809.

The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 6,271,886 after 54,843 new molecular tests.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 16.

Estimated active cases are currently 16,681.

Hospitalizations have increased in 33 of the last 50 days and increased by 16 today to see the total raise to 485.

Beginning Monday, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) started posting a revised COVID-19 daily dashboard. This revised dashboard will continue to provide critical information for the public’s understanding of the current and cumulative impact of the pandemic in Massachusetts, reflecting the metrics that are most useful to track on a daily basis.

Many existing data points, including testing, deaths, and hospitalization rates, have been reorganized to report on current numbers, trends over the past six weeks, and trends going back to March.

• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 103,411
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 97,606
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 5,805

As of November 3rd, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 9,268,818 cases of COVID-19 with 230,893 reported deaths.
