Massachusetts sees increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, 6 reported dead

Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 175 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. A decrease from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.4%.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 114,786 with 6 more reported dead for a total of 8,617.

Massachusetts had seen 213 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.

11,653 tests were performed, almost 3,300 less than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,946,517. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,467,765.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 76 of the last 100 days, however today saw an increase of 7 today to see the total raise to 374.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to August 12th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 77,383
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 74,610
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,773

According to the CDC, as of August 18th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,422,242 with 169,870 dead.
