Massachusetts sees drop in COVID-19 deaths, hospitalizations, and cases in Sunday report
Massachusetts saw a decrease in deaths, hospitalizations, and cases in Sunday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 136 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. A decrease from the previous 24 hour period.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 109,974 with 11 more reported dead for a total of 8,183.
Massachusetts had seen 210 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.
5,893 tests were performed, more than 2,000 less than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,124,217. The amount of individuals tested is 886,213.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 48 of the last 55 days.

As of June 1st, the Department of Public Health began reporting both confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and deaths.
This change is in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control to include “probable” COVID-19 cases and deaths in data collection and reporting efforts. This change has increased the number of cases and deaths reported in Massachusetts.

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 66,921
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,269
According to the CDC, as of July 5th, the total amount of cases in the country is 2,841,906 with 129,576 dead.
