Massachusetts sees COVID-19 hospitalizations increase for third straight day, 15 reported dead

Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations for the third straight day in Thursday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 419 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Wednesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 0.8%.

Massachusetts had seen 295 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 124,139 with 15 more reported dead for a total of 9,051.

27,644 tests were performed on new individuals, 11,012 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,024,306. The overall amount of tests administered is now 3,199,563.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 91 of the last 129 days, however, they increased by 25 today to see the total rise to 377.

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 82,683
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 1,917

According to the CDC, as of September 17th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,613,331 with 196,277 dead.
