Massachusetts sees almost 1,500 COVID-19 cases Friday as country sets daily record for third time in a week

Massachusetts sees a rise in cases in Friday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 1,488 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Thursday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate saw another increase to 1.9%.

Massachusetts had seen 1,243 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 153,229 with 23 more reported dead for a total of 9,750.

20,248 tests were performed on new individuals, over 1,600 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,723,201. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 6,009,927.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 20 from 21.

Hospitalizations have increased in 30 of the last 46 days and increased by 10 today to see the total raise to 571.

Fall River, as expected, is in the red for a third straight week as the Average Daily Incidence Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) jacked up to 23.1. New Bedford is at 22.7. The cutoff for being in the red is 8.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to October 28th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 103,411
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 97,606
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 5,805

As of October 30th, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 8,924,548 cases of COVID-19 with 228,100 reported deaths.
