A Massachusetts police officer has died after a multi-vehicle crash this morning.

Randolph Chief of Police Anthony Marag issued a statement on the passing of Officer Beal due to a crash in Hingham.

“It is with deep sadness that I inform you that Officer Michael D. Beal was involved in a motor vehicle crash involving another vehicle this morning on Route 3 by the Derby Street exit. Officer Beal died from his injuries sustained in the crash.

Officer Beal was a 35-year veteran of our department. He was an amazing person and friend to all within this department. This amazing family man leaves behind a wife and eight children. Please keep his family, friends, and members of the Randolph Police Department in your thoughts and prayers.”

The crash is still under investigation.
