
The heat and humidity weren’t all that the Fall River Fire Department were contending with Friday morning.
According to Captain Eric Caffrey, at 11:14 a.m., the Fall River Fire Department was dispatched to 87 Barre Street for a reported building fire.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and visible fire showing from the two-story wood frame building that previously housed a carpentry business.
The response resulted in a 2nd alarm.
2 Cars, 5 engines, 2 ladders, Heavy Rescue 1, and Squad 11 responded to the scene, with Police, Emergency Medical Services, and Special Services โ EMA.
Last units cleared at 1:18 p.m.
The fire is under investigation.
Two firefighter sustained minor injuries and were released at the scene.
