Massachusetts mother loses 16-year-old son in fatal Mother’s Day shooting

A Massachusetts teen has died on Mother’s Day.

According to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr., at approximately 1:00 a.m., a pedestrian flagged down officers stating that someone was brandishing a firearm at 333 Howard Street in Northborough. Officers requested assistance from departments throughout the area then heard multiple gunshots as they approached the property, which caused a chaotic scene as there was a party with approximately 300 people.

One victim, a 16-year-old, was carried to the bottom of the hill to a waiting ambulance. He was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

A second shooting victim, a 17-year-old, was treated at Marlborough Hospital and was released.

Two others were treated at Marlborough Hospital for their injuries.

Several others had visible signs of injuries and refused transport to the hospital but were treated on scene.

Three people were arrested on firearm related charges, however their names were not released and are expected to be arraigned on Monday.

Early stated none of the injured or arrested are from Northborough.
