Massachusetts migrant accused of child rape released on $500 bail with ankle monitor
A man in Plymouth County indicted and charged with child rape, has been released on bail.
In late May, a Plymouth County grand jury returned indictments charging 26-year-old Cory B. Alvarez with one count each of Aggravated Rape of a Child with 10 Year Age Difference and Rape of a Child by Force. In March, Alvarez was found dangerous, and he currently remains held without bail.
The indictments followed an investigation by Rockland Police. At just after 7:00 p.m. on March 13th, Rockland Police were dispatched to the Comfort Inn at 850 Hingham Street for a report of a sexual assault. The Comfort Inn is currently part of a state/federal program to house migrant families. Alvarez resided at that address.
Upon arrival, Rockland Police encountered the 15 year-old female victim, who was then transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment. As a result of their investigation, Rockland Police developed probable cause to arrest Alvarez, and he was taken into custody.
According to the Boston Globe, Alvarez posted a $500 bail that was levied by the Plymouth County Superior Court despite prosecutors originally asking bail to be set at $25,000.
ERO Boston told the New York Post that Alvarez is wearing an ankle monitor, but his location is not being shared due to Boston being a sanctuary city.
According to the Globe through his lawyer, Alvarez was granted bail “due to the inconsistencies in the evidence and the alleged victim’s version of events, lack of physical evidence, and [because] the surveillance did not support the claim.”

I shouldn’t have assumed that from your response to a post. After reading this post I want to thank you for proving my assumption correct. Pointing to a specific example of an immigrant doing something horrible as a justification for your anti immigrant sentiment, shows your bias towards immigrants.

I don’t have a problem with LEGAL migration , Illegal migration is a nonstarter. When you don’t vet who’s coming into the country you get rapists and criminals. If you’re okay with this you’re just as brain dead as the judge who gave this POS a bond.

Innocent until proven guilty, and this newly arrived American deserves the best and most zealous defense he can be provided with.
Drumph and his lackeys would like to selectively prosecute people based on their race, gender, and status, and the Supreme Court, which Roland Friesler may as well head, backs him up. It’s time to expand and diversify the court, as it has no members of the LGBTQ+ community and very little representation of POC.
If you’re looking to blame some politician for this, I would say look at Drumph and how he made Republicans back away from President Biden’s bipartisan immigration bill and how they have denied money for border security, police, and womyn’s services.
If you voted/support Republicans there is blood on your hands – all over the world.

What part of illegal don’t Democrats understand? These folks cut the line in front of people who are trying to come to the United States the right way. Over 90% of asylum claims are meritless. In addition, it is impossible to vet people who are coming from countries that don’t have modern criminal justice systems annd are willing to share information. It’s tough to put a shine on sneaker but this Judge could have done more to keep the public safe including turning this person over to ICE for DEPORTATION.
