Massachusetts man sentenced to over 30 years in prison on 14 child rape related charges
A Massachusetts man has been sent to prison after being found guilty on some disturbing charges.
On Wednesday March 23rd, a Barnstable Superior Court Jury convicted Jamie Silva of seven counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child, seven counts of Indecent Assault & Battery on a Person Under 14, and Intimidation of a Witness.
Thursday, Judge Elaine Buckley sentenced Silva on his convictions for Aggravated Rape of a Child and Intimidation of a Witness.
The defendant was sentenced to 18-20 years in prison for two counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child, followed by an additional 13-15 years in prison for five additional counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child. The defendant was also sentenced to 30 years of supervised probation for Intimidation of a Witness.
The case was investigated by the Barnstable Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Daniel Higgins. The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation of this case.
