Massachusetts man accused of exposing himself, urinating in front of young children, at dog park
A Massachusetts man was arraigned last month after alleged disturbing behavior.
According to police, on Wednesday, June 17th, at just after 8:00 p.m., Webster Police Officers assigned to the evening shift responded to the High Street dog park for a report of an intoxicated elderly man who urinated on the sidewalk in front of children. A description of the man was provided to Officers.
Upon arrival, Officers’ Melissa Bak and Katrina Mrzyglod located the man in question walking across the street. He was briefly detained while Officer Francheska Cedeno spoke with the caller to gather further information. It was learned that the man, identified as 63-year-old John Potasky, was at the dog park on High Street when he was publicly consuming alcohol and causing a disturbance, with another un-identified male. At one point, Potasky walked over to School Street, publicly exposed his genitals and began urinating right on the sidewalk. This was in front of multiple young children.
After learning this information, Officer Cedeno placed Potasky under arrest. Officers located numerous containers of consumed alcohol on the sidewalk as well as a pool of liquid that was believed to be urine.
Potasky was charged with Open and Gross Lewdness (Felony), Disorderly Conduct, and Town By-Law: Open Container of Alcohol.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Attached booking photo was from a previous arrest in 2023 of Potasky. Due to his intoxication level, he was unable to be photographed during June’s arrest.
Court records show that at arraignment, Potasky pled not guilty and was released on personal recognizance with a pretrial hearing scheduled for August 19th.
