Massachusetts father kills wife, child, before fatally wounding himself
LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon have confirmed that, at 6:39 a.m. this morning, Lowell Police received a 911 call from a male resident of a Warren Street apartment. The caller reported that he had shot his wife and child and that he was in possession of firearms.
Police immediately responded to the residence and located an adult female and a female child dead inside. The male caller was also located dead inside from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Lowell Police Department. The case has been referred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who will determine cause and manner of death.
The identities of the deceased were not released.
