Massachusetts DESE announces 252 new COVID-19 cases, here is the city, town breakdown

The latest figures concerning COVID-19 in Massachusetts public schools have been released.

The report by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education reveals that 252 tested positive. 154 of the positives were students and 98 were staff in the time period between October 29 and November 4th.

The report from the week prior revealed that 286 tested positive. 201 of the positives were students and 85 were staff in the time period between October 22 and October 28.

The report from the week previous to that revealed 160 tested positive. 129 of the positives were students and 73 were staff in the time period between October 15 and October 21.

The report only includes positive cases of students and staff who have been in school for either in-person or hybrid learning. Remote learning cases are not counted.

Dartmouth: 1 student
Fall River: 2 students and 5 staff
Fairhaven: 1 student
New Bedford: 2 students and 1 staff
Plymouth: 3 students and 1 staff
Seekonk: 1 student and 1 staff
Somerset: 1 student and 1 staff
Swansea: 1 student
Taunton: 0
Westport: 1 staff

Over the last 7 days, Fall River is the district with the second most total cases in Massachusetts with 7. Haverhill had the most with 10.
