More new coronavirus cases have been announced today in Massachusetts.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, there are 13 new presumptive positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed or presumptive positive cases in Massachusetts to 41. Of the 13 new presumptive positive cases of COVID-19, nine are associated with the Biogen employee meeting held in late February: the cases are either employees or close contacts of employees. All of today’s presumptive positive cases are isolating at home or in a healthcare setting. Of the 41 confirmed or presumptive positive cases, 32 are associated with the Biogen conference.

The State Public Health Lab’s result is considered presumptive positive and the specimens are sent to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for confirmation.
