Massachusetts Department of Health permits cities, towns to share case counts
In an update on our previous story, the Massachusetts Department of Health is permitting cities and towns to share case counts.
According to Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan, yesterday morning MDPH requested that local Boards of Health (LBOH) not share case counts in their communities, but their stance has now changed.
“Yesterday afternoon they came out with written guidance that local Boards of Health could share case counts while continuing to maintain privacy of patients. Therefore, we will continue to share case counts and as always will not share any identifiable patient information.”
There are 9 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Fall River at this time.
