Massachusetts COVID-19 hospitalizations increase for 4 straight days, 19 more reported dead
Massachusetts saw another increase in hospitalizations in Wednesday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 509 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Tuesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.1%.
Massachusetts had seen 454 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 133,868 with 19 more reported dead for a total of 9,342.
16,134 tests were performed on new individuals, over 3,300 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,346,790. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 4,478,131.
The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths increased to 13.
Hospitalizations have increased in 16 of the last 23 days and increased by 21 today to see the total increase to 515.

• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 92,662
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 88,825
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 3,837
According to the CDC, as of October 7th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,475,262 with 210,232 dead.
