Massachusetts COVID-19 hospitalizations have increased in 8 of the last 10 days, death rate increases
Massachusetts saw another increase in hospitalizations in Thursday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 455 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Wednesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 0.8%.
Massachusetts had seen 542 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 126,863 with 15 more reported dead for a total of 9,150.
18,556 tests were performed on new individuals, over 2,100 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,144,396. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 3,642,716.
The 3 Day Average of COVID-19 Deaths increased to 13.
Hospitalizations have increased in 8 of the last 10 days and by 14 today to see the total rise to 375.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 23rd
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 87,024
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 84,350
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,674
According to the CDC, as of September 24th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,916,292 with 201,411 dead.
