Massachusetts COVID-19 hospitalizations fly past 800 Tuesday as positive test rate continues increasing

Massachusetts saw another increase in hospitalizations, active cases, and positive test rate in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 2,263 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Monday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate increased again to 3.25% from 3.17%.

Massachusetts had seen 1,967 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 186,774 with 20 more reported dead for a total of 10,130.

The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 7,387,199 after 65,468 new molecular tests.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths remained at 21.

Estimated active cases increased again to 32,309.

Hospitalizations have increased in 46 of the last 64 days and 21 of the last 23 and increased by 54 today to see the total raise to 835.

Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report

According to Thursday’s report, Fall River has a 62.5 Average Daily Incident Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) (41.8 last week) which is the fourth highest in the state among communities in the red. New Bedford sits at 29.9. Westport is also in the red at 44.8, Swansea is at 37.6, and Somerset 47.1.

• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 114,110
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 107,158
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 6,952

As of November 17th, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 11,136,253 cases of COVID-19 with 246,232 reported deaths.
