Massachusetts COVID-19 hospitalizations, 3 day death rate, and 7 day positive test rate drop in Friday report
Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations in Friday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 320 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. An increase from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate has dropped to 1.9% from 2.1%.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 111,853 with 18 more reported dead for a total of 8,488.
Massachusetts had seen 162 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.
14,740 tests were performed, almost 3,200 more than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,676,170. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,277,617.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 70 of the last 89 days, and saw a decrease of 13 today to see the total drop to 390.

• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,852
According to the CDC, as of August 6th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 4,802,491 with 157,631 dead.
