Massachusetts COVID-19 cases, deaths, and hospitalizations increase in Saturday report

Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations in Saturday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 569 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Friday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 0.8%.

Massachusetts had seen 431 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 125,139 with 26 more reported dead for a total of 9,085.

21,298 tests were performed on new individuals, almost 1,000 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,067,821. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 3,337,292.

The 3 Day Average of COVID-19 Deaths has increased from 13 to 16.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 91 of the last 131 days, however, they increased by 24 today to see the total rise to 362.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 16th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 84,600
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 82,683
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 1,917

According to the CDC, as of September 19th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,706,374 with 198,099 dead.
