Massachusetts COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to climb Saturday

Massachusetts saw another increase in cases and hospitalizations in Saturday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 2,200 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Friday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate increased yet again to 2.27%.

Massachusetts had seen 2,038 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 164,936 with 23 more reported dead for a total of 9,903.

The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 6,639,954 after 92,286 new molecular tests.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths remain at 17.

Estimated active cases are currently 20,720.

Hospitalizations have increased in 36 of the last 54 days and increased by 22 today to see the total raise to 535.

Beginning Monday, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) started posting a revised COVID-19 daily dashboard. This revised dashboard will continue to provide critical information for the public’s understanding of the current and cumulative impact of the pandemic in Massachusetts, reflecting the metrics that are most useful to track on a daily basis.

Many existing data points, including testing, deaths, and hospitalization rates, have been reorganized to report on current numbers, trends over the past six weeks, and trends going back to March.

Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report

According to Friday’s report, Fall River has a 41.8 Average Daily Incidence Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) which is the fifth highest in the state. New Bedford sits at 28.4.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to November 4th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 108,129
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 101,787
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 6,342
