Massachusetts continues to see increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, according to MDPH

Massachusetts saw another increase in hospitalizations in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 454 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Monday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.1%.

Massachusetts had seen 465 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 133,359 with 8 more reported dead for a total of 9,323.

12,785 tests were performed on new individuals, over 1,500 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,330,656. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 4,416,428.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 10.

Hospitalizations have increased in 15 of the last 22 days and increased by 21 today to see the total lower to 494.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 30th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 89,948
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 86,491
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 3,457

According to the CDC, as of October 6th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,436,278 with 209,560 dead.
