Massachusetts comes in top 10 for best states to live, 3 of top 11 are in New England
If you didn’t know it already, New England can be a pretty nice place to live.
According to U.S. News and World Report new “Best States” rankings, New England has 3 of the top 11 spots with Massachusetts ranked 9th.
The report states that the Best States ranking “draws on thousands of data points to measure how well states are performing for their citizens. In addition to health care and education, the metrics take into account a state’s economy, its roads, bridges, internet and other infrastructure, its public safety, the fiscal stability of state government, and the opportunity it affords its residents.”
Massachusetts came in 2nd for health care, 2nd for education, 4th in crime/corrections, 4th in natural environment, and 5th in economy.
New Hampshire ranked 4th overall with Vermont coming in at 11.
New England states that did not fare as well are Connecticut (20th), Maine (27th) and Rhode Island (34th).
Washington took the top spot, while Louisiana brought up the rear.
