Mayor Jasiel Correia II announced in May that the City of Fall River would be gifted a new playground at Maplewood Park courtesy of the New England Patriots Foundation.
The Mayor issued a response saying, “What a generous donation this is by the Kraft family and their foundation to our great City. Maplewood Park is a great fit for this playground and we are very excited to have a Patriots themed park right here in Fall River.”
“My family and the Patriots Foundation are excited to be donating Patriots themed equipment for the Maplewood Park playground in Fall River.” said Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft. “We have always felt a strong connection with our fans in Fall River and are excited to be able to show our support for their community. We look forward to seeing the final product and providing children and families a new playground to enjoy for many years to come.”
According to the Parks Department, work has already begun on the playground this week. A completion date has yet to be set as the construction is weather dependent.
