Man who allegedly robbed Fall River store and was on wanted fugitives list, in custody

UPDATE: Another of Bristol County’s Most Wanted Fugitives was taken into custody this week. according to the Bristol County District Attorney, the defendant turned himself in at the Fall River Justice Center on Monday and was ordered held on $3,000 cash bail. If the defendant posts bail, he will be outfitted with a GPS monitoring device.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Most Wanted Fugitives list just grew by one.

25-year-old Achraf Balzourt is a wanted fugitive who failed to appear in Fall River Superior Court for a pretrial hearing on March 15, 2019. The defendant is facing a Superior Court indictment, charging him with armed and masked robbery. On December 26, 2017, the defendant is alleged to have robbed the Petro Plus & Food Market on South Main Street in Fall River. During the commission of the robbery, the defendant is alleged to have armed himself with a butcher knife. Although the defendant was found to be a danger to the community after a Superior Court Dangerousness Hearing was held, the defendant was released on $3,000 cash bail. The defendant is a Fall River resident, but also has previous ties to Orange County, Florida.
