Man stabbed in chest in Fall River after Facebook drug transaction gone wrong
A man was stabbed in Fall River on Sunday after a reported Facebook drug transaction.
According to Captain Barden Castro, at approximately 4:38 p.m., Officer Mitchell Walsh responded to St. Anne’s Hospital for a report of a man suffering a stab wound to his chest.
The victim stated that he agreed to sell marijuana to an individual on Facebook and when he went to meet that person on Eastern Avenue, two men wearing masks entered his motor vehicle. Once in the car, they drove around for a short time until the male in the passenger seat stabbed the victim in the chest in the area of the Flint Fire Station. Both men then fled the victim’s vehicle, he then drove himself to St. Anne’s Hospital.
The male victim was later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital due to his injuries, but was ultimately released from the hospital and is expected to recover.
The incident is still under investigation with officers and detectives conducting a follow up today.
