Man living at Massachusetts hotel housing migrants charged with child rape
HINGHAM-A man charged with child rape is being held without bail pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz has announced.
26-year-old Cory B. Alvarez pleaded not guilty at his arraignment today in Hingham District Court on one count of Aggravated Rape of a Child.
The Commonwealth moved for a dangerousness hearing to be held, and it was scheduled for Friday, March 22. The court ordered that Alvarez surrender his passport and have no contact with the victim while in custody.
The charge stems from an investigation by Rockland Police. At approximately 7:06 p.m. Wednesday night, Rockland Police were dispatched to the Comfort Inn at 850 Hingham Street for a report of a sexual assault. The Comfort Inn is currently part of a state/federal program to house migrant families. Alvarez resided at that address.
Upon arrival, Rockland Police encountered the 15 year-old female victim, who was then transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment. As a result of their investigation, Rockland Police developed probable cause to arrest Alvarez, and he was taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.

I appreciate the reporting on current subjects. I wonder why under the title, “trending” there are titles that are repeats of events that happened 6 years ago. The Fall River Reporter fills an important role in the community but this old news is seen by many that repeat the headlines w/o noticing the dates.

I’ll bet this guy receives free legal representation all the while he doesn’t belong in America. He doesn’t belong in America because he has violated the immigration laws. Is it any wonder he would violate every other law standing between him and a free ride in America?
