Man killed in crash on I-195 Wednesday afternoon
A local man has lost his life after a serious crash this afternoon.
According to Massachusetts State Police, just before 3 p.m., Troopers assigned to State Police-Dartmouth responded to reports of a single vehicle crash on Route 195 Westbound at mile marker 2.2 in Seekonk. State Police responded along with the Seekonk Fire Department.
Upon their arrival they discovered a 2015 Nissan Sentra that had rolled over with the operator, identified as Matthew Beaudoin, 38, of New Bedford, suffering from serious injuries. Preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was traveling on Route 195 Westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, it left the roadway to the right and rolled over. Beaudoin was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and Beaudoin was the sole occupant of the Nissan.
The crash remains under investigation by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police along with the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit.
