Man hit and killed by train in Middleboro

A man was hit and killed this morning by a train according to authorities.
According to MBTA, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Transit Police officers assigned to the South District received a radio call to respond to Middleborough for a report of person possibly struck by a commuter rail train.
Multiple Transit Police units responded along with Middleborough Fire & EMS. TPD personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: A male, age unknown at this time, while trespassing on the right of way, was struck by an inbound commuter rail train on the Middleborough/Lakeville line.
The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.
Transit Police detectives are currently investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Foul play is not suspected.
