Man has 2 purchases in mind after hitting $1 million Massachusetts State Lottery prize

A local man already has several plans after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Phillip Medeiros of New Bedford has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Gold 50X” $10 instant ticket game.

Medeiros opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said he plans to purchase a new car and go on vacation with the winnings.

He purchased his winning ticket at Cumberland Farms, 757 Ashley Blvd. in New Bedford. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

$4,000,000 Gold 50X has two $4,000,000 and five $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
