Man dies after being pulled from Swansea Town Beach
Tragedy struck at a beach in Swansea Saturday.
According to Sgt. Mark Foley, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Swansea Police received a 911 call of an unresponsive male at the Swansea Town beach. It was learned that the male party was located in the water by individuals kayaking, who alerted bystanders on the beach for assistance. The male party was pulled to shore where the bystanders administered CPR. Swansea Ambulance personnel arrived and provided Advanced Life support. The male, age 55, was transported by Swansea Ambulance to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The identity of the male is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The incident remains under investigation by Ptlm. Kyle Stone and Detective Keith Chomka, as well as the Massachusetts State Police detectives unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
Jason Davis, 39, of Fall River, also died earlier this year on July 21st at the same beach.
