
A concerning incident took place at a Fall River Stop & Shop on Friday morning.
According to Deputy Chief Barden Castro, at approximately 4:25 a.m., Fall River Police responded to Stop & Shop, 333 Mariano Bishop Blvd., to assist the Fall River Fire and EMS Departments with a medical emergency.
It was learned that a 58-year-old male was working inside the business on a ladder while painting when he fell and struck his head. The male was ultimately transported to Rhode Island Hospital for medical treatment.
The injuries are serious in nature, with scanner transmissions revealing that there was a lot of blood at the scene.
Castro stated that due to the seriousness of the injuries, detectives responded to the scene to conduct a follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
