Man arrested in Providence on 8 charges stemming from shooting

A local man has been arrested on several charges concerning a shooting from earlier this month.

According to the Rhode Island State Police, the United States Marshals Service and the Pawtucket Police, members of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jayquan Parker, age 25, of 227 Rand Street, Central Falls, Rhode Island.

Parker was arrested on several charges relating to a shooting incident that occurred in the City of Pawtucket on April 7, 2020. As a result, members of the Pawtucket Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Felony Assault, Using a Firearm When Committing a Crime of Violence, Possession of Firearms by Person Convicted of Crime of Violence, Firing in Compact Area, Drive By Shootings, License or Permit Required for Carrying Pistol, Disorderly Conduct, Vandalism

Parker was taken into custody in Providence and later turned over to the Pawtucket Police Department.
The Violent Fugitive Task Force is managed by the Rhode Island State Police and the United States Marshals Service. It is comprised of members from the Warwick Police, Pawtucket Police, Providence Police, Portsmouth Police, Middletown Police, Cranston Police and East Providence Police Departments.

      Central Falls is only 20 miles away from Fall River
