Fall River Heritage State Park announces a new exhibit showing off what the city has created.

Everything old is new again, it’s sometimes said, and Fall River’s rich history as a mill town is certainly influencing its future as a hub of industrial manufacturing. Fall River Heritage State Park is delighted to host a new exhibit focused on the thriving industries that call Fall River Home, a collaboration with Professor Andrea Klimt of UMass Dartmouth, entitled Making It Here – Manufacturing in Fall River.

The display is a combination of Dr. Klimt’s popular Fall River Portraits ~ Making Things photography exhibit and new programming created at the Park to mirror the themes displayed in the photographs of the production processes and people working in locally-owned industries. Each month this summer will feature a different material or product made here in Fall River – from contemporary textiles to hats to luxury leathers, soaps, and high-tech tools – with changing displays, interactive and hands-on activities, guest speakers at the Park’s monthly Lunch Meet series, and more.

Admission and all programs at Fall River Heritage State Park are free and open to the public. An adult must accompany children. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request. The Visitor Center is located at 200 Davol Street in Fall River and is wheelchair accessible; parking is free and available in the Department of Conservation & Recreation lot at 5 Water Street, adjacent to Battleship Cove. Please call the park with any questions at (508) 675-5759 x500.
