MA Police arrest man after allegedly hiding in bushes, looking through childrens’ bedroom window

DRACUT — Deputy Chief David Chartrand reports that the Dracut Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious male looking into two childrens’ bedroom window early in the morning, and intend to seek charges against a suspect.

On Monday, April 4, at approximately 2:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious male hiding in bushes outside of a resident’s apartment at 120 Skyline Drive. Officers arrived and spoke to a resident of the complex who said she was walking her dog at about 2 a.m., when her dog began barking at a section of bushes where a male soon emerged.

Officers also spoke to another resident of the building who said she was awoken by a barking dog, and shortly afterward heard her 2- and 5-year-old daughters crying in their bedroom. That resident told officers her 5-year-old reported seeing a man looking into her bedroom window.

Dracut Police searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., Dracut Police received a call reporting that the male subject from earlier had returned to the area of 120 Skyline Drive and left in a motor vehicle.

Dracut Police stopped that vehicle nearby and identified the driver. Dracut Police were also able to identify that individual as the male who had been looking into the childrens’ bedroom window earlier.

Dracut Police intend to seek charges against that individual in Lowell District Court. Police are currently not releasing the suspect’s identity and the charges being sought. The property owner has also issued a no-trespass order barring the suspect from returning to the property.

“This was a concerning incident, and I want to thank the residents who contacted us and provided us with information that was key to this investigation,” said Deputy Chief Chartrand. “We have identified this individual and are moving forward through the proper channels to seek criminal charges in Lowell District Court.
