Local Massachusetts corrections officer indicted on charges of having sexual relations with inmate
A New Bedford woman has been indicted on a charge that she had sexual relations with an inmate while she worked as a corrections officer.
According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz, a Plymouth County Grand Jury returned an indictment against 53 year old Vicki Oliver. Oliver has been charged with one count of Sexual Relations with an Inmate by a Corrections Officer.
The indictment comes after an investigation by Massachusetts State Police. On February 17th of this year, a fellow corrections officer at the Massachusetts Treatment Center in Bridgewater reported to officials that they had witnessed Oliver having sex with a male inmate at the treatment center.
As part of the investigation, State Police and Department of Corrections officials interviewed the inmate who stated that he and Oliver had a sexual relationship between July 2018 to February 2019.
Oliver will be arraigned at an undetermined date in Brockton Superior Court.
