A local man killed in a Bristol County crash is being remembered for his military and community service and his love of family.
According to Jennifer Sowa of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, on Monday at approximately 4:00 p.m., Massachusetts State Police were called regarding a motor vehicle crash on Route 95 North in North Attleborough.
Upon arrival, State Police Troopers located two vehicles on Route 95 North in the area of mile marker 7. One, a black sedan with extensive damage making the vehicle almost unrecognizable and second, a white SUV with heavy front-end damage.
The driver of the black sedan, identified as 58-year-old Randall Ricketts of Foxborough, MA was transported from the scene to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro with significant trauma. Ricketts was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival at the hospital.
Ricketts, known for his service in many capacities, was an Army veteran and was employed as a Program Manager for the Veteran’ Affairs OEM responding to emergency situations and natural disaster areas all over the country.
According to an obituary, Ricketts “consistently volunteered for the Founders Day Committee, at the election polls, sports teams’ boosters and so much more. He could be found on the sidelines of every game and loved his children’s enthusiasm for all their sporting, musical and artistic pursuits.”
Ricketts was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he went to college, got married, and served in the community before moving to Foxborough.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 9th at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Burial will be private. The service will be live streamed at the following link: https://www.stmarysfoxboro.org/live-stream.
