Local man claims $1 million Powerball prize
According to Mass State Lottery, Louie Medeiros of Taunton is the winner of a $1 million Powerball prize on a ticket sold for the multi-state game’s drawing held Wednesday, September 27, 2017.
Medeiros purchased his winning ticket at Smart Stop Shop, 306 Winthrop Street in Taunton. He claimed his $1,000,000 prize (less tax withholdings) at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Braintree headquarters on Tuesday, October 10. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
Medeiros plans on investing part of his winnings.
